As I sIt here Today

The weather has turned semi-bitter cold.....

My sleep clock has been off.It is not my usual time to wake up or go to sleep....  The rhythm needs to be adjusted

My trip to work in Mississippi was canceled this week, and I am a lil perplexed about that. I was all ready to gas up the truck and get myself today for the trip.

Its too bitterly cold to even sit on the porch with a blanket in the sunshine......  I haven't walked in two weeks. which is not good....   I also need a haircut....

What else is whirling around my lil piece of the Lil City on the Red..  Im perplexed by my fellow countrymen that they continue to shout and boost loudly about who this nation elected as our leader.

I thought there was civil service protection.... Evidently, this administration has elected to cut the probationary employees first, then take funding cuts for other positions.

Even in Louisiana, Our Governor is trying to mimic his Buddy by trying to do away with civil service protection. for some state employees

Its a Total Shit Show. all the way around.

Today Marks a MilesStone in My Life

On Saturday, February 15th, 1975, I walked into the Courthouse in St. Francisville, La. I had an appointment with the High Sheriff W.C. Percy Jr., Sheriff of West Feliciana Parish.  I was still in college at the time. I was not out, nor had I had any true realization of what a conservative career path I was about to embark on.

I was in need of a job, having to work at the college for my room and board during the week  and needed money to pay for my truck, I had my weekends free from the job at college.  It was 72 Miles from College back to the Farm in West Feliciana Parish.

Mr. W.C. offered me a job to come work for him on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, saying I could "leave a lil early to return to school .. make it back before the sun sets."

Thus, 50 years ago today, I began my public servant career, which I continue today while working for the Great State of Mississippi.
