Just Like Momma

I am reminded of my Momma and her habits on Saturday mornings.  Momma would never go to town, we lived on a fairly large farm, out in the country of West Feliciana Parish, without putting on the lipstick, fixin' her hair, a simple dress.

On Saturday Mornings, I tend to make my rounds as my Momma did, to the hardware store, meat market, grocery store, men's store, etc..  I tend to, during the winter time, put the corduroys on, starch shirt, barbour waxed jacket, cap, and brave the chilly, rainy weather..

Making my rounds always brings me into contact with the locals, folks I know from the city govt, folks from the courthouse, business folks, etc... I tend to gather the pulse of the City and Parish... on these Saturday Rounds

It Ain't that Bad

Well.... here I sit, on at the Courthouse.. its Friday......

Saw the good doctor McLe on Tuesday....

He put it all in prespective for me.... according to his logic, I am undeetectable using the old scale, actually for my meds I am doing well according to him.... He said I will never be have a perfect panel, the two most important sections, I am according to him, I am compliant in... that's what counts in his book.

I feel a bit relieved.....

I have decided to continue the no alcohol for the most part... i feel much better with out a drink or glass of wine in my hand..... it just makes sense from a medical stand point..

Mardi Gras is coming .... its early this year..... for a number of years I was in a Krewe, Gay Krewe, which was fun... it disbanded a few years ago...  membership in a Krewe cost $$$$.. you have the costume, the feathers, and then the "throws", the parties, etc...  a typical custome will run you $500 to $1000, "throws" are assess per rider of the float at $600 for each rider.  ..

I will sit back, enjoy the day, stay home, won't attend any parades and grill me a good steak...go to bed early... cause I know .... most riders will wake up on Ash Wednesday wih that "throw me something Mister" headache... ... Not Me.

Later in the month, I am traveling to San Antonio for my MRI of the prostate and to meet with my cancer doctor... I will be 9 years free this year... ... simply amazing..... I hope the MRI indicates that there is no nodules or anything...

It ain't bad..... Life is ok... here in the Lil City by the Red
