Its early morning here.
Sort of chilly.
The week is winding down. I am heading to see my doctor on Friday. Routine appt. My old doctor has decided to break free of the office, specialize in Sleep Medicine. I have known him for so many years. He is about five years younger than me. Wore sandals to work, dress down, spent the time just talking with you behind those closed doors.
I will miss him. I could tell him anything I wanted to... Anything. and I did !!!!
I don't think that this new Dr., even tho I know him somewhat, I won't be as open with him as I was with G.
G. knew everything. I just don't have the confidence in this new Dr. right now. I was thinking about traveling to BR to see an old Dr. friend of mine down there. I know I could have that same relationship with him as I had with G. But its two freakin' hours away, just the drive. It would be a whole day gone. Then the convenience of getting in to see him. Its just not practical to go to BR for an Internal Doctor.
So, I am off to see F.T. on Friday....just have to wait and see.
Other than that, all is ok here.
I was elected President of our Neighborhood Foundation on Tuesday. This should be interesting. I have a couple of bubbas on the board, along with the sprinkling of lil' old ladies, aggressive young women, and one diverse man I just haven't figured out yet. The diverse man, he works for the Catholic Diocese here. I think he is a kind man, late 40s, married, just a nice guy. I say he is diverse, he isn't like the other two guys on the board. They are pure Republican bubbas.
It should be an interesting year during my tenure. I have already run into some conflict with the aggressive young women, they remind me of the Republican Bubbas, I think they are jr. leaguers... they seem to be... just up in your face, with those pointed questions...
They should be like their mommas' sweet as a magnolia flowers in presentation, but hard as a hickory sticks when need be. But they are like switch cane, cutting you as you pass thru it.
So, on to the weekend.
Bricks on the Red..... The Ramblings and Writings, here on the Bricks, in the Lil' City by the Red. Written in the Tempo of My Native Tongue of the Felicianas.

Monday Monday.
Got a call from Brain Dump this weekend, we have followed each other for gee...seven or maybe more years on the blogs, from diaryland to blogspot.
I have had a opportunity to break bread with him and RO also. Its always good to have friends that you can share with. Lots of folks never meet their blog friends, I am happy to say that I have met a lot of them. Its been a rewarding experience. Really true friendship.
You might say that how can a cyber space friend be a true friend. Well, they know you, they know your secrets if you post them, they know what has gone on in your life.... then the turn around is that you know who they are too.
The ones of us who have followed each other, (another example is Thom in Va) have made very mutual friendships along the way.
I am so privileged to have made these close friendships.

Spring Time is coming to the Red River Valley, purple magnolias are in bloom
The bridge in the second picture is the bridge at Bayou Hynson. Actually there are three bridges in the Garden District that cross the bayou. All are in close proximity to each other. The Foundation that I am now president of will take on the restoration of the bridges as a project for 2008-2009.
I worked in the yard today, went to FH to buy some plants, came home with some oak leaf hydraingas.
We are going to paddle tomorrow for sure.

Mr Timmy thought I had retired.
Well Mr Timmy I have. But there is life after Corrections here in the swamplands.
I am consulting/auditing now across the Nation. So I am off to the Great Sunshine State end of March.
Got all my reports in, waiting for the pay check from the national hqs in Washington DC
They better hurry up too.
Other than that, kayaking, and about to begin mtn biking for the spring.
Not much else happening.
Soon I will begin writing like I use to, just haven't yet.

Home Again....well for a short time ..
I am back on the road this Sunday, makes three weeks in a row.
Tis taking a toll on me. I am wearing down. I can tell.
Nothing at the house is getting down, the weather is starting to turn nice, and I am not here enough on the past weekends to make anything happen.
I am off to the Magnolia State on Sunday. Home of Ice Tea ( un-sweet), cornbread muffins, cold butter, and rednecks.
I will be consulting for a lil prison in the Delta. Somewhere around Greenville.
While I am there, I am going to see a first cousin of mine. She is the only one of her family that is left there. Her daddy and momma are passed on, sister is on the Gulf Coast trying to rebuild her house.... She stayed behind to teach piano and run the music store.
So, it will be great to see her, talk about the relatives that have passed on to their just reward, drink afternoon coffee and chill.
It gives me an opportunity to also bring her up to date on myself.
Most of my family just ignores my life and in good Southern fashion, still says ...oh that is Tommy, he is a Good Boy... yer right Good Boys are not 50+. But in Southern Culture, gay men are still boys...cause men accept responsibility and make a family...and that is another story for another day.

Timmy wants to know How are things in Alice.
Well Timmy
This is the first time in 16 years that I have spent away from the Great State of La on Mardi Gras.
As you are well aware, I left on Sunday to come over here to your state.....Texassss.
I am sitting here watching the wind blow at 20 mph, dust as thick as a Louisiana fog passing by my third floor window at the H Inn Express in the heart of Alice Tx.
Men Report to Timmy
I haven't seen one good lookin' man in Alice Tx since I have been here. ...
Ah, yes I am here....but the good thing is I am heading home tomorrow, with a stop in H Town for coffee.....maybe.....for a afternoon....coffee or soda pop.
This concludes my report from Alice Tx to Timmy

Its Mardi Gras weekend here.
Super Bowl Sunday too.
But I will be on the road to Tx. On Sunday.
Headed down to little town called Alice.
Oh me... retirement has been busier than I have wanted it to be.
Also, the city wants me to go to work for them.
Director of Public Works. Pays great, but 400 employees. Headaches out the ya ya.
Well...I will deal with the City later on I guess.
Have to get down there to Alice to see what they are all about and do the report.
But I am missing MG here, which might be a good thing since I don't have a partner this time to make merry with.
