Today............

Today I rec'd word from the favorite son (also the only one) that he has rec'd his call up orders for Iraq.

He joined the Marines to put his self thru college. Which he did.

Now, as with many young men, he is faced with the call to duty.

Words can not express my thoughts.

I am not sure how to or what to say at this point in time.

Last night's supper. Home made .... It was a good jambylaya.

That is what is wrong with me.... I like my own cookin'.

Oh well.... its raining over here today.

I am building a fire in the fireplace in a few minutes...smelling smoke.

Wednesday afternoon.

I am feeling better.....I had a bad chest infection the Dr says.

Breathing treatments.... Antibiotics.....!!!!

Steroids...!!!

and the such.....................!

I am better now. But its the la weather...cold damp cold damp...wet

That keeps getting to me........ We haven't had sunshine in three and half weeks...not even a glimpse of a ray...


Oh well.... not much else is going on...same mundane stuff....

This weekend is the big historical party... I am cooking a pork tender loin for it....my part of the party.

We are suppose to have a speaker from Atlanta.

They need a donation also... so I am doing my part there too !!!!

I hope it is fun.

Sunday evening ......

Well the Saints lost today.... major mistakes... No Super Bowl this year.

Slow day. ... Then.......The office called and I had to go in. ...

Employee mistakes.....

So, mistakes were made..... all thru the day....

Oh well....and tomorrow is Monday.

Brian from the company I hired to do the media center came by yesterday and finished some of the trim work. This company is located in town here and does electronic sales and carpentry work. All in one sort of thing.

They did a great job. Plain, simple, and good lines.

I played Brahams and had morning coffee in the room today.

Still under the weather.

I am under the weather. Sinus infection and post nasal drip.

So got dose pac, antibotics, inhaler, and boxes of Kleenex.....and plenty of water...water!

Took Lisa out to lunch today.

She is dealing with some issues pertaining to her gf.

Relationships are not easy. It is a work in progress and both partners must "work" at it. I was relating to her about Mark and I. Some details about intimacy and how it builds that special bond between two individuals. As our relationship drew to a close, I realized that we hadn't tried or worked on that part to well. Either of us.

We were comfortable with each other. Understood each others habits and quirks...but we didn't build that intimate time together like we should have.

Anyway..... happy MLK Day.

Didn't make it to St James Episcopal today.

I was the gentleman last night. Did my duty.

Got in at 200 AM this morning. I have been dragging all day.

Saturday morning...late.

I am on my way to have lunch with some folks.

I went to a pre MG ball supper last night. The gumbo was good.

Tonight is the MG ball. We have a pre party before the ball at one of my neighbor's home. Then its on to the ball.

Its a straight affair. I have been ask to escort a lady. I am doing my duty as a Southern Gentleman.

Slip the dancing shoes on......and away we go tonight. !!!!

Well I had a visitor to my blog.

Interesting. He is from somewhere above the Red R. (maybe).

I read his blog today.

Sounds like a fimilar story.

Not much happening this week. No travel for sure.

Em is coming over to measure for some drapes. I am doing the back media room.

All is good at the moment on the banks of the Red.

Nothing happened this week. On Friday, for the last couple of Fridays, its been the hottub with folks in it. Brian is calling it Hot Tub Fridays at Tom's.

Its a two pair of couples that come over, bring supper, get in the tub, and are gone by the stroke of 11 pm. Seems to make the weekend longer. Which is ok with me.

Other than that, nothing to report. Next week will be the first full week of work since mid December.

I have been looking at some property in the neighboring parish.

I will post some pics later.

Today I am off work. The govt has today off.

I am waiting for the local electronic store to come and put in my ceciling speakers in the house.

Passing the day here at the house.... its a lil cold here too..well cold as we know it in la.

Not much else...reading Matt's blog, looking a dbv's blog..and so on.

Well .....tis a new day.....new year.

Early this morning I woke up to have a text message from John Pruyn (pronounced prine). He is in Va or Md ...just depends where he steps on the line.

So, at 530 am this morning, I was sitting in bed texting John. He had been out all night... must have been living it up..

I was in bed on Dec 31, at 1030 pm snuggled under the down comforter, listening to the neighbors and their kids pop fireworks. ...Great neighborhood. .... I did get up and went down the block for a few minutes to wish them all a happy new year...then back under the down comforter.

So, John ... just a lil history on him. We were in a relationship in 1989..it lasted to early 1992. What broke us up was our careers....he is a landscape architect so he wanted a bigger city...more exposure...my career brought me here to central la. Just couldn't hold the long distance together...

Anyway, John and I have always remained in contact on a semi basis. If he had a job down here or I had a job up there, we would always connect, spend a lil' time together.

John has had four lovers,partners, or whatever, while Mark was the only one for me since John.

Any who not to belabor the point, but the first communication of '07 was John, former lover-companion.

Wonder what that does.......former ..former friends, former dates, former neighbors, former classmates... who knows... it could be interesting as we pass thru this year.
