Tomorrow, I journey back to the Land of my Birth, for a social obligation, a wedding for Saturday at the stroke of half pass Five in the Afternoon, at the Old Governor's Mansion, in the Capitol City. The wedding party have reservations for me at the downtown Hilton for two nights...
These obligations are rare these days, during my years here in the Lil City by the Red, I have not associated with my Past Life... It brings back memories ..... however, it is also a gathering of old college roommates and folks I have known and my family has known, done cattle/horse business with since the 1920s.
Louisianans, Gentlemen and Ladies of the South, , relationships formed generations ago. I will be among the Blooded Again.... I can hold my own, but its the Pomp and Circumstance that always drives the dagger into my Soul... According to social standards, I am there, at the Top of the Heap.... however, I am sure my eye will be cast to some 20 something waiter with white gloves and a snarly cute smile.
Coping with this Social Must, I have taken reservations at the top of the building at 100 Lafayette Street, in the Capitol City with an old dear friend and his lover ... for Dinner at high Noon (remember we do Supper here in the South)..... Sushi and Martinis ... long, long lunch.... on Saturday....
Then after Dinner, I will take a Respite before I begin my stroll down to the Old Mansion, Dressed appropriately..... tailored coat, braces, brown on brown Oxford shoes, accompanying Robert Talbot tie, correct watch, and Parade as the Gay Old PeaCock that I am......
............ in the Confines of The Social Agenda of the Deep Deep South.....
Wish me Luck.. and I don't wink too much at that white gloved waiter carrying ... Champagne in those Coupe Glasses.... please No Flutes here.. its Louisiana
