Tuesday Chattin'

I was on one of those evil web sites... Grindr.... the gathering of misfits, have-nots, queer con artists, etc... and a few nice guys thrown in the mix.....

I had chatted with a guy up in Powhatan, which is about 55 miles north of here, he's a nice guy, in recovery, poz, country boy.... liviing in the backwoods of Louisiana, facing the stigma of his health issue.  Being Poz in rural Louisiana, once the word gets out... is not a nice event... you walk in the one horse grocery store, which serves as the community center, gas station, cafe.... you can sense and feel Moses parting the Red Sea..... everyone shys away from you.. wipe the counter down with clorox when you leave..

I feel for this guy in Powhatan, Powhatan is in rural Natchitoches Parish, a Village of 141... just think of the isolation, backwardness, prejudice that he endures every day.... he stays on the family farm... working...

Him and I have chatted many times, met a few times...he's just a nice guy.

Nice Guys do appear sometimes in the less likely places....

Ramblin' on the Red This Morning.

Thoughts of Raw Bones.....and Summer Sweats

I got to the office early this morning ..... 730a.... my mind drifted to "other things".

Living in a small rural city, yep city, the Parish is approximately 133K, the one small city, then one good size town are split by the Red River...  is sometimes an amazing place to live... considering the history and the hot summer sweats..

The Parish has always been a "raw bones" place, its steeped in history of Heuy Long, Earl Long, The Bowdons (Father and Son) who commanded the Mayor's Chair during the 20s 30s and 50s, Arnold Jack Rosenthal, and so many numerous others.... Then in the 60s  it was a family  with links to the Kennedys, then came Edwards and his association with this familly in the 70s and 90s.

Huey and Earl was "raised up" just 45 minutes north of here in a pea patch in the real piney woods...

Raw Bones... as described in some long forgotten publication, is where some one speaks his mind, doesnt mind a raw fist either..up side a person's head... Loud, Bosterious, Name Calling Politicicans and Locals too.

It's a setting for Haves and Have Nots....... folks that have been born with a decency, social graces, income to support an education, then the Have Nots, dropped outs at 16 to work a filling station, on public assistance for many reasons--maybe for generations, no work drive or ethics.... get along come along sort of folks.  Then for purely effects of the summer heat...that sweltiing Heat, makes Men go crazy.. some of the Have and Have Nots  entwined with each other .... for hot humid sweaty nights when the deer flies buzz around the cab of the truck ..... and that is another story for sure......

Monday ..... All Day

Monday Monday

I am sitting here at the office, sometimes I wish I could sit at the house and do what I do here, except that this administration wants me to be here and be seen.

I havent posted in a week...

Had a blogger buddy get married to his partner ... which is always nice to see men celebrating thier lives together.

Had  one of my neighbors propose to her girlfriend on top of the roof on the newly renovated Hotel here in the Lil City by the Red..... she had it "staged up" to be a hollywood type set.... . as the fireworks for the 4th of July went off....  She is an attorney here, her girlfriend is an engineer.  Great Couple..  they will live down the street.

Some one sent me photos of Chad and his "Dad" in living in San Francisco... sort of put the finishing touches for me on any thoughts I had bouncing around in my mind....

I have also been working through my status... of late.... which is a whole subject into its self.... the dynmaics sometimes rise to a level where I just want to buy a camp and hold up in the woods... kind of... solitude ... but I am a person who loves neighbors and folks stopping on the porch... I'm not sure how I would cope with Solitude in the Woods

Its Monday in the Lil City by the Red

Still Here

I'm still Here, .....

Not sure what is going on in the blogging department, haven't had much to write about, well I have, but not sure how to communicate it at the moment.

However, I am still here, the local politics are in the doldrums .... and I might be too on a personal level.

But I will be back.... one day ..... maybe soon.... maybe later....

I do have to say.... It's Summer in the Deep Deep South!!!
