At the moment its Cold, 18 degrees, it snowed yesterday ... having to drip the pipes ....

Folks in Louisiana are not use to this, ...... It messes with our minds....

Other than that, it all seems to be going well.for the most part. I continue to go to Mississippi about three to four days at one time during the month...

As I Was Reading.....

As I read a blog that I tend to keep up with, the writer mentioned a friend who was retired but working part-time to keep busy.    It reminded me of so many of my fellow brethren who have fallen into trouble with too much time on their hands.   I am delighted that I have found something to do that,  Mississippi came calling, and I answered in the affirmative.

I am on the road tomorrow to Walnut Grove, Ms., for a day of inspections and recommendations, then to Pearl, Ms., for a day of monitoring ...   The monitoring is basically the follow-up for the accreditation process.

This gives me insight into the future of corrections, allowing me to hear their concerns and stay abreast of current events.  As I was discussing this trip with my other team member (there are two of us, both retired Wardens), we worked together on this project) It helps us feel like a part of an organization, making headway and honestly being concerned about the offender population and employees.
