Harvey came and went here in the Lil City by the Red without too much fanfare....
The populations in on the western border of La and Tx wasn't so lucky...
I stayed at the Onmi Hotel in Downtown Houston last Monday, August 21st on my way back from San Antonio..... On Tuesday Aug 29th, it had water to five feet in its main lobby...
The small city of Beaumont Tx... is worst than first thought of, they are even evacuating thier hospital there... No potable drinking water citywide... most of the city under water.
My cousins who live in Houston and friends that live there too, some how all lived in areas that did not get the flooding... all had water in their streets but nothing in thier homes...
We have two more storms, one in the western Gulf and the other on its ways from the African Coast.
All will be watching for sure.... until the Next Time.

Recognition is the Beginning of Progress Updated
The Office is learning much more than it ever has, since the weekend.
The discovery of the facts is that..... They were a Couple..
I certainly have never discussed openly my career or current duties. However, at this point in time....
I will Say this.....
All I can say is that for the Deep Deep South, I am Proud to know that the Office i work for
is handling this matter in a very professional way.... being sensitive to the victim's family and addressing the matter with calm reserve and dignity for the deceased.
It makes me so Proud to be a part of a progressive organization that is beginning to realize and recognize the Transgender, Gay--- Communities of the Deep Deep South.. ......

Reporting on the Weekend
On Friday, a transgender person, who was 29 yo, was murdered, by a 20 yo male, here in the Lil City by the Red. Then on Saturday evening, an 18 yo female, murdered a 17 yo female, by stabbing her. Both murders have left the entire City numb.
The African American ministers spoke about the murders to their congregations, on Sunday, from a local news report, trying to get everyone to be calm and stop the violence among the young people. The murderers and murdered were African Americans.
The whole Lil City is experiencing sadness concerning these two murders. The female culprit doesn't have an arrest record, however the 20 yo male does... and is quite lengthy.
What can I say... its sad, its numbing, and to think that all four lives are now destroyed, thier families torn apart.
Here is the sun setting on the western horizon of the Lil City by the Red yesterday.. after a bloody weekend.
The peace of the evening, did not beckon the horrors that happened over the two previous nights.

It's Raining ... and Another Post
Almost each day, I check to see if my fellow bloggers have posted something, almost is the optium word here.
Today, I was reading a post from one of my favorite bloggers, he mentioned the group of stellar friends he has been a part of.
That got me to thinking and looking back. I have been in the same neighborhood since 1991. I have formed many close friendships with my neighbors. We all live in about a four block area of each other. We all have had similar careers, teachers, administrators, few worked in the Federal jobs, some taught in local schools, I think three of us worked for the Great State of La.
Lizzy stopped by the house the other day, to talk about her upcoming medical appts and reminded me of the above... that stellar group of friends, how close we all are, we are within about five to eight years of each other. As I approach my 64th birthday, I am proud, honored, and really blessed in so many ways that we all take care of each other in our own ways.
So, I am reminded of my blessings by reading other bloggers....

Tis a Tuesday
Got to the office early today.
Its Tuesday, really its not much going on today.
Saw the good Dr last week, my numbers are improving drastically, for the better. It seems that my meds are doing a yeoman's task getting me healthier by the day.
Other than that.... its work work work.... trying to keep life simple.
