Saturday Afternoon

I sitting up here in by bed on a Saturday Afternoon, the Saturday before Easter Sunday.  Debating with my self if I am going to Church in the morning,  take that two block walk down to St. James Episcopal.  I should,  I know I should.... I'll see... maybe early Church.. the 8am one.

Then I am cleaning house today also, washing the clothes etc.  I thought I had happened upon another housekeeper, gay, as I had the last one, but he hasn't shown up.  So, its been about a year now since I have not had a housekeeper.  The last one was a gay guy, cleaned the house for 10 years, But (and there is always a but), he moved off to Red Stick.... So I haven't found anyone I would trust since then.

I have also made my self a promise to stay off of the Grindr and Scruff web sites... when you look at those sites, its never really fruitful actually... those guys on there always want you to extend some type of help to them.... So... I will do my best to stay off of those and other sites.

Its a slow Saturday Afternoon here in the Garden District of the Lil City by the Red.

Its raining today

Well its Tuesday.

Not much is happening other than the Job at the courthouse.

I know I  need to work, its something that all of my family has done through the generations.

I just get a bit over it.  I figured up the other day, in about three years, my debt, everything will be paid off.... then maybe I can coast to part time....

I did meet a guy over the weekend..... its when you happen to run into someone unexpected that his circumstances and your circumstance will never let you get to any conversation or even a cup of coffee.

I won't try to explain in detail, he was with some of his friends, who stopped by at a party I was attending.  We had some chemistry, he has an amazing aura about his eye and being.

But, and there is always a but, he is far too young, he has lived a life of here to there, can to can't tomorrow always, sunset to sunrise and days and days for his only 26 years of living.

But, and there is always a but, we connected in those brief 4 hours we were together, ... ......

I will remember him, wish him well....

The Rain Came Down

Last night we in the Lil City by the Red experienced a Gully Washer....

I live on one of the last brick streets in the Lil City by the Red..... My curb height is at the "toe of the street" is about 18 inches.  It was made for the carriages (horse drawn) to draw up to the curb and the ladies to step out on the side walk.

My street was laid in 1901..... it has held up fairly well.... over time....

During my tenure with the Lil City by the Red, I was the Director of Public Works, any time a big storm was forecasted, Preparations were made........

Not so last night and into the wee hours of the morning.... The City was not prepared... the Current Mayor, said it was an unusual weather event.....

Bull Shit.... Preparation is the Key.....No Preparation.... the house across the street sits lower on the lot than mine... mine is a 1925 bungalow... and is built up... raised is the termed used here in the Deep Deep South....

Here are photo of the encroaching water..... looking to the house across the street.
