Well it doesn't look like I will be moving anytime soon.
Made up my mind to stay put. It was a nice thought and the idea of getting the big house motivated me to do some more work here at the house.
Also, the old man that sold me this house, sold it to me for me to live in the rest of my days. It was his family home, his parents built it in 1925. He chose me to have it. Lots of other folks wanted to buy it, but in the end, he chose me.
So, I surely don't want Mr. B's ghost to come and haunt me for sure.
So........that's the story....I am here on the Brick Street.

I am having a real hard time in making up my mind as to whether to buy the big house or not ( See last Post for picture)
I have virtually turned my 1925 classic bungalow (1680 sq ft) into a one bedroom house, with different living spaces. Media/Den, Living room with fireplace, Dining Room, two bathrooms, one bedroom, one kitchen, one small laundry nook. That is not counting the front porch and back decks with hot tub.
So why do I need the pictured 4810 sq ft monster...Bed and Breakfast maybe....apartment for my sister maybe... hmmm...there is no front porch on the big monster....But is GRAND !!!!..and all Southern Belles want to live like Scarlett once in their lives.......
I would love to live in grand style...but my cozy abode is the best one bedroom, front porch sittin', breakfast on the back deck, bungalow in the Garden District.
Also, if I put all my money into the Mansion on Barrister Street, then I won't be able to travel anytime soon to New York City..(which I have never been)..and eat at this fancy restaurant that Tom is working at now....
Decisions...Decisions.....!!!!!!!!

I am still here.
I have been looking at a new house (above). Thinking bout buying it.
The location is not so good, but as I think about it, so was the location of this house when I brought it years ago.
The owner is from New York City, she has never lived in it. Brought it thinking she might become the next Scarlett.
The price tag is around $240K.

Today I wrote my city councilman.
On a proposed communicatons tower that is suppose to be put up the street from me in the city public safety complex.
Here is my email to my councilman:
Dear Mr. Silver:
This correspondence is in reference to the proposed communications tower that is to be located at the Alexandria City Police Complex.
When the City first proposed placing the Public Safety Complex in the old Sears Building, the residents of this neighborhood expressed a desire to work with the City. The City landscaped and architecturally remodeled the building and site to 'fit' within our neighborhood. As we are approaching a new horizon in the Garden District here in Alexandria, the APD is now proposing to mar our historical gem with a communications tower in the parking lot.
With all the opportunities available to the APD in the electronics field, why do we need a tower to be placed in our beautiful historic district.
I have seen in the past several years a resurgence of pride and community here in the District. We have fought for and won the recognition of our brick streets as a prime example.
The electronic field in communications can provide for "repeater stations", remote base operations, and other ways to solve the communications concerns of the APD. I believe a study on how best to help the APD's communication concerns should be the first action taken.
As a voter and citizen of this City, I ask for your support in preventing the placement of this tower in our District.
I have copied the Mayor's Office on this matter and hope that I will hear something personally from that office as well.
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter, I hope to hear from you in person.
So along with my neighbors...I hope we will stave off City Hall...
For the People.

Yesterday Emm and I went out and looked for me a couch for the media room.
I have had several folks over to watch movies in the past few weeks and sitting in those two arm chairs has not been the best possible scenario.
So, I told Emm to get me a couch. She is the lady that has transformed my living room into a show place.
I will post some pics later of both rooms, after Emm completes the media room.
The couch is coming today. I brought it from a local furniture store. Its leather, espresso color, the leather is thick to the touch.
I am again not feeling up to par. I have the sinus thing being played again in my head. It sucks.
I will go to the gym today...I hope... Bryan has been sick also, so I have not had a work out partner.
