News........

It was a whirl wind trip, approx 460 miles each way all performed in about two days..left yesterday returned today.......  I took the northern route most of the way to SA.  It was reflective since, I made the trip again by myself.  Its been since 2009, 8 years, I have been making the trip, twice a year.

I've gotten to know the small towns and stops along the way.... the faces change, but the stops, trees, buildings, remain mostly the same.

I like the northern route, it takes me through, Woodville Tx, Huntsville, Tx, over to Navasota, Tx, then I meander down to I-10 to catch the last leg into SA.

I elected due to the weather, bad storm front to come back through Houston.... I should have ventured back to the northern route sooner, but ended up transversing Houston, in a rain storm, on I-10, I then caught my senses and headed back north to Livingston TX to Woodville and then Home to the Lil City by the Red.

All in All it was a good trip, I did like my new doctor, Dr H.  he is a protege' of my former Dr. I can tell from the conversation he did his homework and research on my and my diagnosis.  I was very relieved that he did.  He knew about all of my history with his former partner Dr.  Dr H is too, a research Dr, so he has a limited amount of patients, I think for the most part unless something changes, I will stay with Dr. H.

My tests and reports say no growth, still in remission.... Which is as the folks down South say.....

"It's a Good Thang"

On the Road

Yesterday, I left the Lil City by the Red, traveled West.........

My bi annual visit with to UT Med Center in San Antonio.

There has been a changed in my Dr.  He has left the research center, went down the street to practice with his son, who by the way, is another research urologist.   I'm not sure what is going on there....  I google and found a rumor mill of possible happenings... gee Google Everything Now... it says a lot of about Who we are becoming.

Anyway, I meet with the New Dr today, he is suppose to have the same philosophy as my old Dr.  I have been coming over here for 7 years.  7 years of free, non operative prostate cancer, amazing what a lil knowledge will do and a semi healthy life.  .. semi health.... I know I know... it should be Totally Healthy....

So, I am up at 225 AM banging on the computer, can't sleep.  I have a cold to boot..sinuses actually..with a lil cough...

The drive over here was about 7 hours.. I stopped twice just to stretch my legs..  not sure what route I will take back... The bridge is repaired  at Burr's Ferry on the Sabine River.

But, (and there is always a but)  This will be a turn around today, see the Dr at 10am, then head back after that.  Arrival should be around 8 or 9pm  depending if when I can get out of the Dr Office... and hopefully have a good report and experience.

Early Spring Windows

Some years ago, I commissioned  Doug Stannard, of Louisiana, to build some stain glass "windows" for me.

Over the years, I have moved the windows around the house.

Today while folding clothes on the couch,  I turned around to see the below, it only happens in February of each year, due to the crepe myrtle trees that shade the back of the house.

No leaves in February.

The Sun is at the correct angle.

Here is the results:

I traveled with Lisa and John today up to Natchitoches.  We took the backroads back.

I haven't really left the Lil City by the Red, in quite sometime.

It's one of the prettiest small towns in Louisiana, here is a lil' bio of it.

Natchitoches is a small city and the parish seat of Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, United States. Established in 1714 by Louis Juchereau de St. Denis as part of French Louisiana, the community was named after the indigenous Natchitoches people.

Just Can't Believe

I was going to type It's Just Amazing or Just Can't Really Believe.......

But (and there is always a but)...............

I do not truly understand why this country has lost the act of civility among our leaders...

It doesn't matter what party, what belief......

We are becoming separate groups, we are hurling insults at each other, tempers flare.........

There is not any decorum left .......

There is not graciousness anymore...........

Where is humility .... where is manners.......

I can't stand to watch any news.........................

I'm afraid for the first time in my public service career that we are loosing our Government.

The Beast is Arriving Today

When I was a teenager, on the Banks of Thompson's Creek, all the young guys (my peers, my buds)  in the town closest to my family's farm, all had big muscle cars, Corvette, The Judge, The Bee, Camaro SS, and 3 Mustangs (289 and two GTs)...........and on and on.

My Momma had for us, my brother and I, a farm truck, 3 speed shift on the floor, Chevrolet,... a farm truck...  My sister, brother, and I would cross the creek, and go to school in the neighboring parish (and that is another story for another day).

I always admired, a lil bit of envy, my peers-my buds, Leroy, John, Danny, BooBoo, the Peters Twins, Elam Brothers (their Dad owned the local Garage Mechanic Shop) etc...

It was a close group of guys from 14 to 18 years of age, who all grew up in a small town....  I was the guy who live on the big farm, everybody came hunting and fishing... and I was always riding around in those big muscle cars, smoking at Bobby's Drive Inn, those boys burned up enough tires on the main drag of our small town...to help promote Goodyear Tire.

Over the years, I looked back and realized that Momma did the best by not letting us succumb to the desires of Youth, she keep us centered, we all have college degrees...and more...

Over the years my vehicle purchases have reflected some of those values ...

But (and there is always a But)

Not Today Junior..... Fucking Not Today......

The Beast is arriving today..... Watch out David and Mike Elam, Leroy Pittman... (those are the guys that owned the 3 Mustangs in town)

The Beast is Here...... I am going to have the Baddest Mother Fuckin Mustang in the Lil City by the Red

It arrives today..............
