Well I am off to Elton La today, down in the heart of Cajun Land.. full of CoonAsses, RedNecks....and RedBones.
Sure is a mixture of folks down there.
Going to buy my Christmas Rice. I always give Christmas Rice out as presents. Louisiana folks grew up on rice and gravy, brown gravy from Alexandria to the Gulf, White Gravy from Winn Parish above.... That leaves Grant Parish to be half and half.
The gout is back again. Just a twinge of it...but I can feel it for sure. I just have to make that commitment to better health if I am going to whip it. Loose a lil wgt, eat right. I have cut out all seafood, but thats not it this time.
Just have to look at the diet again. Get back on the bike, to the Gym.

Up early this morning. Clouds are still heavy.
Went to Chapel at 8am
Fair crowd for the weather. I truly like going to Chapel on early Sunday morning. Not to much for High Church on Sunday. But Chapel is special. I feel the Holy Spirit, Lord Giver of Life.
During the Homily, we started to hear the rain outside. So its 51 degrees, raining and that Louisiana cold weather is here.
Had supper with the Garden District Gang aka GDG last night at a local grill.
Just getting ready for Dec 14.

Well...tonight is the last night up above SF for a lil while.
It was suppose to snow up here at the higher elevation. But no snow!!!
Had dinner with the sister, Kirt and friends tonight at Kirt's house.
Great meal, good friends...delightful conversation. Couldn't ask for a better Thanksgiving.
Lil Sister and I rode with the girls up to Abiquiu and around a lil bit this morning.
But it is time for me to go....great sibling companionship....but its time for me to had back to the Red River Valley and the humid weather, Brick Streets of my lil southern Louisiana town.
Land at there tomorrow around 6 pm.

Well....today Kirt took me out to the outback above Abiquiu, along with some other folks. We walked, didnt hike (didn't bring the water packs) on some property that is jointly owned by some friends. The above pictures always say alot about that country out there.
The more I come out here the more I find myself attracted to it and drawn in some msytical way to the high desert. The shadows, coupled with the rays of light always cast a different shadow or highlight a different outcropping or structure at every hour of the day.
The lower pic is some coyote holes. They live in them. Mostly dug on the sides of the Arroyos.

Ah...... I am back in New Mexico
Instead of driving the 15 hours, I rode over on the plane.
So, the question is staying cramp on a hard seat for three hours, vs seeing the sights and places of our Nation for 15 hours.
I think I will alternate between the two. It cost the same. And I can smoke a Cigar if I drive over....and pyscho babble to myself for sure on a drive.
But the plane ride was ok.
Hopefully will connect with Kirt for a hike ...
Well here in Tesuque at the Sister's house......be back in La on Friday afternoon.

Heading out tomorrow for Tesuque NM
To see the lil sister, hike, take more photos, see the country
and could look for a house in the high desert mountains.
I have been toying with the idea that I might look to moving out there for a second home
Flying to H Town tomorrow...I took a fairly long lay over just to make sure my bags get to ABQ with me.
Then coming back on Friday.
All is ok, still on the diet, no gout.

Its Friday.
35 or so days left.
Talk with lil sister yesterday, made plans on her trip over here for the event.
I am off to a meeting about the river front and how different entities are going to improve it here. Since I am president elect of t he Garden District Foundation, I am getting invited to have lunch and discuss my viewpoint. Actually, at the present time, I don't have a view point. This City is somewhat behind our other cities here in La, everyone admits that. The last administration was in office for almost 20 yrs. Change in government I believe is a must, no one should create or try to create a dynasty....Change is good for a democratic govt for sure. It breds life into employees, keeps them on thier toes, and adds dynamics to govt actions.
Enough of the soap box today.
I am going fishing/kayaking this weekend for sure. Had a blast with the girls last Sunday.

Today, I took the kayaks out for a paddle on Iatt Lake. With me were Julie, Ms. Twat, Regina, and Lisa.
We had a great paddle, saw the first geese of the season, always a good sign that Fall is here and Winter is coming.
Leaves were falling, you could hear the crack as they fell to the water below.
It was just a Zen afternoon with the girls.....
I need more like today.
