That the time has come for me.. to realize ..... that my numerical age... must be accepted......by Me
That any young adult experience, is to be treated as a dream....
That one must say.... "that's nice" and Leave it at that.
That the age differences are real....
That the generational gap is not mystic..
That One Accepts his age and performs accordingly....
That is it Period..............!!!!!

So Much to Think About... But its Not the time... Lets return to the Musical Score.. the Book
Tonight......
I am watching Out of Africa...
I should have been born in 1880 so I could have been settled in Africa in 1913...
I watch this movie when I am thinking of all my past lives.. all my passed friends... and presents ones
It is a story of incredible scope.. of Nations.... of War.... of Death..... and the Word of ulitmately True Love... one that has...
No Boundaries.......
I was going to write tonight of the events of last weekend... but I am still not clear in my mind... as to the actions... the events....
So.... I turn to Out of Africa to say.... Watch the Movie... Let Your Mind... be Carried on the words of Denys Finch Hatton... as written by Karen Blixen

Still Pondering ... Thinking....
Well I am still in the pondering and thinking of the happenings on Friday night and Saturday till 3pm..
I havent really made up my mind... formed any hard fact conclusions...
Today at the office.... as I was looking out the window... I notice a cloud formation....
It was just nice to watch the clouds move by....... took my mind off many things...... for a few minutes...
I'm going to place some thoughts down soon.....

Thinkin' on this Monday
Monday..... here in the office......
Thinking of the happenings on the red bricks on Friday afternoon, night, and Saturday till 3pm.
I have thought, thought, thought, re-hashed, played over, re-thought, tried to digest the meaning of it all.....
I opened myself up to be a so vunerable for 24 hours... Opened my Life up...
More to come......after I attempt to process it all.

Winky Said ..... "I will gladly pay you on Tuesday"
On September 1, 2016, I left my employment with the Lil City by the Red..... Mayor's Office..
I had been there since retiring from Corrections in on June 30, 2008..........
Up until today, I had worked off of a folding table, really never makin' a committment to be here permanently .. for the duration of the term of the DA. ....which ends in Decemeber 31, 2020, unless he is re-elected for another six year term..
So, today, I brought my office from home, the one I had at with me at Corrections, then the Lil City by the Red...
Not sure why it took me so long, to make up my mind, I think some of it was politics of the Courthouse, my internal emotions, and other factors....
Here is the office set-up that occurred this morning at 747am... my table/desk, my chair made for me by an inmate 20 years ago...awards, plaques, my state seal, etc. etc.. I'm here of at least two half more years..
It's a final step to actually retiring maybe when I reach a lil pass 70... maybe...
Today is hamburger day and in remembering "Winky" of Popeye the Sailor Fame... as Winky said.. I will gladly pay you on Tuesday for that proverbial hamburger..

Momma........
Happy Mother's Day ......... Momma
You were 32 years old when you had your first born..........
You were 41 when you were widowed, left with three young chilren.........
You were a Sargent in the Women''s Air Corp, U.S. Army during WW II......
You broke Lines with everyone, raisin' your chaps, by YourSelf...
Never to remarry... never to date another man.........
You were left with the responsibility of managing your late husband's family business that began in 1872......
You did it on Your Own... By Your Self......
You prospered the Family.... makin' a livin' ... teaching Embracing the Paternal Family .. Your Late Husband's Family... instilling the hertiage that Your Husband had... giving it to Your Children....
All Three graduated College.. All Three became Successful Career Workaholics.. Just Like You.....
This Year... Momma on Christmas Day.... the Day of Your Birth...
You would have been 98......
Thanks To You Momma..... I am who I am..... Thanks to You Momma... I Continue to break the Lines

tis Wednesday the day After.....
Well its the Day After....
On Tuesday, I travel out of the Lil City by the Red... and went South.. a lil ways... down to the Prairies of Southwest Louisiana, pass the last stands of semi old growth Long Leaf Pines ( that is not any first growth stands left in Louisiana, all cut by those Yankee Businessmen from 1895 to 1930, only second growth and above) but (and there is always a but) that is another story for another day.
I spoke to a gathering of 156 Corrections Professionals .. being as I was the featured speaker..on a day commemorating the passing of Fallen Officers/Employees in the BOP and the hostage situation of 1987 down there.
I was given a plaque, nice wood, Red Oak, stating I was a "Pillar of Correctional Excellence", received a standing ovation afterwards... An Honor, that I have never received... it was humbling to say the lest... I give about 15 speeches a year, for my employer, on various subjects.. but Corrections has been my calling most of my professional life... to recieve a standing ovation...by my peers and to say that I am a Pillar of Correctional Excellence... really hit home to me....
All these years, I have had numerous awards, three citations by three different Governors, etc etc....
Standing there, among Corrections Professionals of Upper Ranks... from BOP, .. the Big Boys of the Corrections World... whether I ever receive that again.. doesn't matter...
Yesterday Morning.. was a Great Walk for me... I am humbled in so many ways...
Turning to a lighter note... today is Wednesday.... seersucker pants and blue suede shoes

Brown on Tan... and a Fairly Good Day
It's Monday .. Monday....
and according to the shoes its a fairly good day.... let's see what tomorrow brings
Tomorrow, I am headed to give a speech, which i deem more of a "talk" to approx 200 folks gather for a Memorial for Fallen Corrections Personnel and Reminder of a crucial hostage situation that took place near here in 1987.
My "talk" will be the the main speaking event, first the presentation of the colors, then the "talk", then a 21 gun salute, etc......
I am always really not comfortable in doing these "talks", but it is something I do more than I like...but it is part of why I am here, what I do.....
Here is the shoe photo of the day..... brown on tan saddle oxford Allen Edmonds..

The Debate... When for the White Bucks
As attorneys go... they love a good argument.... even when it comes to when you can begin to wear the classic white bucks of summer...
Here in the Deep Deep South... from the mid point of the state... the Lil City by the Red and Southward... to the Gulf......
The Standard Rule is.............
After Easter and ending on Labor Day........
Now comes to the Courthouse... a Yankee (sort of) ... he hails from the northerrn Louisiana City.. which is akin to being in Texas.... His agrument is this........
He says that White Bucks.... are to be worn after Memorial Day... and ending the day before....Labor Day.......
Pardon... Who's Your Momma........
Run him back to the City that is closer to Dallas than New Orleans....
Here in the Lil City by the Red..... The Rule Stands..... After Easter.. and on Labor Day....
I prefer .. a Classic Cap Toe, Red Sole, Red Tipped White Laces... with SeerSucker Trousers
